I used to think that poverty just meant being poor but the PTC helped me understand what being in poverty actually meant, and the effect had on those who found themselves in that situation, and scarily how close some families were to being in poverty.

I think one of the most defining moments for me is when it was said there are millions just one pay check or broken appliance away from poverty. But I know it means much, much more than that. Thanks to the PTC I, in turn, could better explain poverty to my friends, to give them better understanding, and that they could pass on too.
