Short story: Diane
Item
In the beginning there was so much desperation, despair and deprivation.
We brought children into this world with the best of intentions, so much love and faith.
Life was so hard, nothing went to plan, poor health, poor choices, and robbing Peter to pay Paul.
We were not bad people, but it did not seem to matter what we did it was never enough! We were always short.
I felt my life was over....but there were a few angels in disguise that came to our rescue. Helped us more than they will ever know! We could never repay them!
When I started to heal physically and mentally, I knew I must do more!
I must help build a strong future for our family and our community. Be the voice that advocates for others.
I knew education was my only way out. If I could just shake the imposter syndrome. Progress is happening every day. I just need to believe.
With sunsets like this I believe anything is possible. Tomorrow is a new day! A fresh start! New opportunities!
The greatest gift I have learned is gratitude.
Gratitude for those who believe in us, support and encourage us when we are unable to believe in ourselves.
Everyday sends new challenges, but I am grateful for all the experiences I have as it makes me appreciate everything and EVERYONE I have!
