So what does the Poverty Truth Community mean to me? Well, as you'll see from the picture that accompanies this story there's a picture that says names, not numbers, and a pack of handkerchiefs next to it. The Poverty Truth Community treats you as a person.
And its the whole person, the good and the bad. And my time with their PTC, I've been privileged to be part of groups of people who felt safe and secure enough to share their stories, and some of those stories are very traumatic and heartbreaking in lots of instances and lots of hankies was shared as people were sharing their tears.
And there's been plenty of tears shed with the stories over the years.
But, they've also been tears shed for other reasons where there’ve had our successes, and there’s been tears of joy. And also there's lots and lots of laughs where there are tears of laughter.
But the main thing is that we're always there for each other. We support each other and the successes and the failures.
And it goes back to, we’re names, not numbers.
